Pakistan has a great chance to take revenge of their white wash defeat on their tour of Australia six months back after moral boosting win in T20 series by 2-0. Their batting is looking weak in the absence of Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan as only Umar Akmal averages above 40 and Afridi hasn't played a Test in four years but their bowling will be crucial in their success as Gul, Aamer and Asif will get swing in English condition.

Australia after lost in the shortest version will try to prove their supremacy in tests and their winning streak of 12 consecutive Tests against Pakistan will give them confidence. wicketkeeper Tim Paine and the leg spinning all-rounder Steven Smith will make their debut and give more strength in their batting.

Pakistan Team Squad:Salman Butt, Khurrum Manzoor, Imran Farhat, Mohammad Yousuf (captain), Shoaib Malik, Fawad Alam, Faisal Iqbal, Kamran Akmal, Danish Kaneria, Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamir, Abdur Rauf, Umer Akmal, Sarfraz Ahmad.

Germany:

Germany : The German national football team, governed by German Football Association DFB, is one of Europe's elites. Germany, also known as Die Mannschaft (The Team), is one of the 2010 World Cup favourites. Worldwide known players like Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger or Miroslav Klose can change the tide of a match at any given time. Germany is currently coached by Joachim Low and captained by Philipp Lahm(C). Germany, abbrieviated as GER, is ranked 6th in the FIFA Ranking. Some of Germany's best achievements in international football: 3 times World Cup Champions (1954, 1974, 1990); 3 times European Championship Champions (1972, 1980, 1996).

Once again, we’ll be playing against Germany. But I think it has nothing to do with what happened two years back. This will have no part to play when we meet on Wednesday because Germany have brought in a lot of young players who weren’t there in 2008 and they have played a brilliant World Cup so far.“The Germans must be extremely motivated. But, we are also at the top of our game and we are keen to progress further. I’m sure the match will be about two sides who enjoy possessing the ball. It’s going to be a great battle. We’ve been following Germany’s progress throughout the World Cup and they’ve been spectacular.”Germany-Spain = Miroslav Klose vs David Villa When you think about the Germany vs Spain encounter, you certainly can’t avoid thinking about the mouthwatering duel between Miroslav Klose and David Villa. Both players have been in terrific form for their respective country at the 2010 World Cup and fire surely still burns in their belly.

Germany’s Miroslav Klose has got 14 World Cup goals so far – 4 of which have come in South Africa. He is just one short of equaling the world record set by Brazil’s Ronaldo. Looking over his achievement, Klose stated.

Spain : The Spanish national football team, belonging to the Royal Spanish Football Federation, is one of Europe's elites. Spain, also known as La Furia Roja or simply La Roja, nicknames given by its fans due to its traditional red shirts, is one of the 2010 World Cup favourites. Worldwide known players like Iker Casillas, Xavi, David Villa or Fernando Torres to name a few can make the difference in a tight match due to their enormous talent. Spain is currently coached by Vicente del Bosque who played for and coached Real Madrid, Europe's most recognized football club, and captained by Iker Casillas(C) and Carles Puyol (VC). Spain, abbrieviated as ESP, currently holds the 2nd place in the FIFA Ranking and plays its home matches at the Santiago Bernabeu, Vicente Calderon or Mestalla stadiums.

Some of Spain's best achievements in international football: 2 times winner of UEFA European Championship (1964, 2008); Olympic Gold Medal (1992); World Cup 4th place (1950).

Spain qualified in the semifinals after winning their game against Paraguay last 3rd of July in Johannesburg with the final score of (Paraguay) 0 – 1 (Spain) while on the other hand, Germany qualified in the semifinals after winning in the quarter-finals against Argentina last 3rd day of July in Cape Town with the final score of (Argentina) 0 – 4 (Germany).

Spain comes in off a 1-0 victory on Saturday in the quarterfinals over Paraguay—a game that was much harder than it should have been. You have to wonder where Spain would be without David Villa. Villa scored the winner versus Paraguay in the 83rd minute. Villa’s fifth of the tournament gave him the World Cup goal scoring lead, but he could care less right now about a golden boot. The shot, a rebound, hit the right post then over to the left post and somehow went into the net. A wild goal ending a wild game.

Location: Cape Town, Green Point Stadium

Uruguay : The Uruguay national football team represents Uruguay in international football competition and is controlled by the Asociacion Uruguaya de Futbol. Uruguay, also known as La Celeste (The Sky Blue) or Charruas is one of the 2010 World Cup competitors. Uruguayan star players like Diego Forlan, Luis Suarez or Diego Lugano are not to be taken lightly by any team. Uruguay is currently coached by Oscar Tabarez and captained by Diego Lugano (C) and Diego Forlan (VC). Uruguay, abbrieviated as URU, currently holds the 16th place in the FIFA Ranking and plays its home matches at the Estadio Centenario stadium in Montevideo. Some of Uruguay's best achievements in international football: World Cup winners , Copa America winners , Olympic Gold Medal .

Netherlands : The Netherlands national football team is the national football team of the Netherlands and is controlled by the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB). The Netherlands, also known as Holland, the Clockwork Orange or The Flying Dutchmen, nicknames given by its fans due to its traditional orange shirts, is one of the 2010 World Cup competitors. Star players like Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Arjen Robben or Robin van Persie to name a few can make the difference in a tight match due to their enormous talent. Netherlands is currently coached by Bert van Marwijk and captained by Giovanni van Bronckhorst(C) and Mark van Bommel (VC). The Netherlands, abbrieviated as NED, currently sits on the 4th place in the FIFA Ranking and plays its home matches at the Amsterdam Arena, De Kuip or Philips Stadion stadiums. Some of Holland's best achievements in international football: European Championship winners (1988); World Cup runners-up on two occasions 1974, 1978.

Both teams reached this semi-final after coming from behind in their quarter final matches. The Netherlands did it against Brazil and Uruguay broke African hearts by winning a penalty shoot-out against Ghana. Now they meet on Tuesday 6 July 2010 at the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town. The Netherlands came from a goal behind to the mighty Brazil in the quarter finals to win 2-1, and a deserved victory it was. The first half was a tightly fought affair with only Robinho’s goal to separate them. Felipe Melo had played a perfectly weighted pass to Robinho who took advantage of a strangely absent central defence to put the ball in the net.

The Dutch equaliser early in the second half was an odd goal. Wesley Sneijder’s cross into the box looked like it would be easy pickings for goalkeeper Julio Cesar until Melo got in his way. The ball flicked off Melo’s head into his own net. Sneijder headed in the winner with just over twenty minutes to go during which time’s Melo’s afternoon got worse when he was sent off for stomping on Arjen Robben.

The phrase “the drama of the World Cup” was made for games such as Uruguay’s quarter final victory over Ghana. Ghana were the last African team left in the World Cup and took a deserved lead just before half time with a wonder strike from Sulley Muntari. Diego Forlan equalised from a free kick shortly into the second half and the score stayed 1-1 until the last minute of extra time.

Ghana were pressing and as the clock ran down the ball was whizzing around the penalty area until substitute Dominic Adiyah headed the ball goalwards. Luis Suarez stopped it going in the net with his hand giving Ghana a last second penalty and earning himself a sending off that means he misses this semi-final. Asamoah Gyan stepped up to take it and smashed it against the crossbar. The game was over and a penalty shoot-out followed.

Paraguay have found goals increasingly hard to come by at this World Cup and as a consequence became the first team to face the trauma of a penalty shootout following a drab 0-0 draw with Japan in the second round. Gerardo Martino’s side began their campaign with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Italy and cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win over Slovakia before the goals dried up against New Zealand in their final group game and then again against the Blue Samurai. However, at the back La Albirroja have been breached just once and if they are to stand a chance in their quarter-final with the Spanish they will mainly have to rely on that solid defence again. The good news is that Del Bosque’s Spain have struggled against defensive sides. Ottmar Hitzfeld’s well organised Switzerland pulled off a shock 1-0 win against the European champions in their opening game and Carlos Queiroz’s Portugal held firm for 63 minutes before eventually losing their second-round match 1-0.
